Code of conduct
Last updated 27 October 2026
Sindh Literature Festival is for readers, writers, artists and neighbours. This code applies to everyone at the festival and on official SLF online spaces: visitors, speakers, volunteers, staff, stallholders and partners.
Expected behaviour
Treat people with dignity. Disagreement about ideas is welcome; personal attacks, harassment and hate are not.
Respect the venue, the programme timetable, and stewards. Give others space to listen and take part.
Credit writers and artists. Do not record a session if the host or speakers ask you not to.
Unacceptable behaviour
Harassment, intimidation, stalking, unwanted sexual attention, or discrimination based on language, ethnicity, religion, gender, disability, age or similar grounds.
Violence, threats, or bringing banned items into the venue.
Disrupting sessions so others cannot take part, or ignoring a clear request from stewards or hosts.
What we will do
Anyone asked to stop unacceptable behaviour must stop immediately. We may warn, refuse entry, remove a pass, or involve the venue or authorities when needed.
Reports are handled as confidentially as practical. We may not share every detail of an outcome with every person involved.
Volunteers and staff
Volunteers and staff follow the same code, plus any briefing they receive. Volunteer scanner access is only for accepted volunteers using their own email and volunteer ID.
